Will progress in any sphere, Hacks alone and in company, snaffle mouth but forward going. He has no vices, good to load/ shoe/ catch (actually he comes to you). Would suit small adult or willing, knowledgable teenager to have fun with. I feel he may still grow another hand and so would like someone who will appreciate that ideally he should be turned away for the winter or do the ground work phases of parelli (perhaps some fun hacking) to allow him to develop and then come back into work next year. We bought him as a 3 year old to work on the farm but he isn't really suited to chain harrowing etc and as he is a lovely mover he would be more suited to riding. He is very fat at the moment as he is not in work. Home more important than price . He has his feet trimmed regularly but has never been shod. 100 per cent in traffic. The package consist of a size 2 saddle, fenders and stirrups, 65cm girth and a Grandeur Physio pad.

The girth is the most commonly sold length and can fit horses from 17 hands to 14 hands. I tried the saddle (with a towel under the pad) on my 16.2 Irish Draught and on my 14 hand youngster and the girth fit both.

The saddle pad consists of 3 parts - the basic pad, the additional optional physio pad which has a non slip surface at the front and additional fleecy wool effect at the back, and optional foam inserts which go into the physio pad and can be removed to wash the pad. So you can configure the pad to suit the shape of your horse and for the amount of time you intend to spend in the saddle.

The size 2 is the only size in which these saddles are available and it is suitable for all but the largest adults. If you were too large for this saddle you probably should not be riding a horse at all !

The saddle is brand new in the sense that it has been put on a horse and tried briefly - for about 10 minutes with a thin saddle cloth between the pad and the horse. We bought it primarily as a first saddle for our 3 year old quarter horse but found that his withers are so flat at the moment that the saddle tended to sit way too high up on his back. He really needs some withers for this type of saddle to sit on him properly so we have decided to use a different make of saddle.

We tried to return it but Horse and Harmony would not accept it back as they have a strict "try within 7 days" rule which we could not comply with due to it arriving 3 days before we went on holiday with no time to try it before we went.

So, now someone will have the chance to buy what is essentially a brand new saddle for a reduced price !

The Barefoot Nevada is a great way to ride in a western style saddle without the heavy weight and price of a treed western saddle, You would pay probably 3 times this price for a treed western saddle. The Barefoot is recommended by a leading western saddle company in this country as a particularly good buy as a first saddle for young horses.

He is only for sale as owner has too many horses and his rider is now pregnant. Leo is a left brained introvert but like any horse can quickly become right brained if something bothers him. He is great fun to work with both on the ground and ridden but is not really a novice horse so someone who is working at level 2 or above would have no problems with him.
