Guess I need to tell ya a bit about the ride, Julia took the lead as we had no idea where to go, the terrain was great underfoot, neither boggy nor hard. Mind we did come across some puddles and the first one was tiny, so small that Spike could have walked over it and still missed it. However he had other idea's. This puddle to him was huge and deep, he gathered himself up and leapt off all fours, Luckily my western saddle kept me in the seat as I was lurched forward but then my jacket got caught on the saddle horn.
Agh! I quickly grabbed at my jacket in a kind frenzy incase Spike ran off and I was left all caught up. Why I thought Spike would run off I dunno, I make up hazzards that never happen. The ride took us through some lovely scenic routes, up hill and down, some parts where narrow with some tree roots but this made the ride feel like we were in the middle of nowhere treking for miles and miles.
The horses all sure footed carefully took us through the pathways and on some parts we had a nice controlled canter. Err ! Jenny may disagree though, hanging back Jenny thought to let us go first and then she'd trot and catch us up. This went well and sometimes one of us would hang back with Jenny.
On one track the three of us had a steady canter and just as we were pulling up Whoosh........... Jenny and Indy cam flying up behind us, the steady trot Jenny plannd turned into a gallop and Indy looked like she loved the stretch, Jenny certainly enjoyed it as she later told me.
Those hills, riding side by siode me and kathy started going down a hill when suddenly Yellow decided to put his head right down and have a scratch, Kathy was flung forward and I honestly thought I was gonna see her hit dirt, luckily her western saddle kept her seated and we both burst out laughing. I mean come on, of all the chances to have a scratch Yellow chooses the hill.. lol
