SOCIAL MEETING
PYTCHLEY
26th May 2009 |
The Social Meeting was held at Hoppy's (aka Dawn Moreton) in Pytchley on the 26th May, it certainly helps a great deal when others take it in turns to host the meeting as it helps take a lot of the work off my shoulders.
I was starting to ponder on whether many would turn up but I should know better, always popular amongst members we had quite a houseful and it was great to see some new faces. And food, will there be enough room for us all, ha. there's loads, so much variety as well, absolutely delicious but not good for my expanding Jelly Belly.
Starting a little later than usual the topics covered were
- Beach Ride - Past and future, for those that went this year we talked about what a great Parelli Beach holiday it was and already names are coming forward for next year which will be for 7 days instead of 4 as there is just so much to do.
- Canter for a Cure and the Trial ride with Pub Lunch - What a great time we had even if we did get soaked on one of them.
- Western Riding - With an intro day being held in June and places already being taken for future monthly dates this may prove to be a great feature in our calendar.
- Fun Days and Parelli Instructor based Courses
- Discussed Silver Savvy Club Membership and showed the first Manual which was of great interest
- Discussed what events were planned for 2010 and what members would like to see happening such as a course with Carmen Zulauf in March
For future events these were suggested and planning is already under way
On line XC - suggested by Julia Bye
Shimming & Saddling day - suggested by Brenda Foster
New Forest ride - suggested by Ulrika Bluemel
Course held at Carole's - suggested by Carole Ryan
Parelli Dressage - forgot who suggested this lol
We then broke for the buffet which was welcomed as by 8.30pm we were starving, many of us lounged in the kitchen while others sat in the front room. Finally we all kinda merged back into the front room stuffed to the brim with so much food which happened to include lots of desserts, yum yum.
Around 10pm it was time to call it a night though 5 of us (The Colorado Posse) stood talking about next years trip and then we too finally left at around 10.30pm. Only Dawn Amour was missing as she has been seriously ill, hope your up and about soon Dawn x x x from us all.
Lots happening this year, to find out more about courses and events visit the web page.. NOW..
Hope you all are having great play days and rides out with your horses and look forward to meeting you all again over the coming months.
