A new venue which situated in Holdenby and recommended by Moira Dixon, sporting a well maintained indoor arena. A raised viewing gallery with a tea room which also had a lovely heater in it.
A cold December morning and I arrive to see Moira, Hoppy and Evelyn, soon Brenda turns up and after getting delayed so does Carol.
So who is who..
Moira Dixon is playing with Brenda's horse Maddy, New Forest mare
Brenda is playign with her horse Brazil, ISH Gelding
Evelyn Essam with Jayne her ID Mare
Hoppy (Dawn Moreton) and Catherine Moreton share Bruno, ID gelding and
Carol Atkins playing with Ufo her Luistano gelding.
The day started playing with your horse and I guess this gives a AJ a chance to assess you and see where you are in the level you are at. After some play everyone is asked to play the seven games with one obstacle. As the day unfolds and everyone is taken through the tasks we the spectators are up above in the gallery trying hard to stay warm.
It is freezing though I came prepared and made sure I had plenty of layers of clothing. Julia Bye came along, as did Sue and her daughter, Jo, Carol's husband was there (well wrapped up in a horse rug) and we had a few people pop in to see what was happening.
Moira kindly provided hot drinks and biscuits for everyone, I'd brought a flask of hot coffee as your never too sure how cold it will be.
Having to leave early to see to my horses I receive a text message to say Evelyn has passed her Level 1. CONGRATULATIONS EVELYN
Sunday dawned and I felt ill, dizzy, tired and nausea, so much so that I seen to the horses went home and got straight back to bed. I finally got myself pulled aroudn enough to get back to the course in time to say hello and see how things were going. Catherine who was not feeling too good on Saturday turned up today and managed to go through her remining tasks with Bruno.
CONGRATULATIONS TO HOPPY AND CATHERINE who passed their Level 1. A great achievement for Hoppy who previously could only manage 45 strides of PP and today managed 21 minutes...
Carol did well and now only has a few tasks to pass her Level 2,
Brenda and Moira had already passed their level 2 previously.
Photo's, I did take some but they came out too dark, well seeing I ain't no photographer lol, better luck next time..
