SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER 2009

September
This month was spent trying hard to sort out Jake's scratching and frequent visits to the vets aren't really helping. My health is up and down and accidents are not my favourite pastime though I seem to participate in them quite often. Much to my dismay as this meant missing out on a 2 day course with James Roberts, but all is not wasted as James says I can book onto another later next year. (Health permitting)
Physio finally started for the whiplash and lower back pain I sustained it the car accident at the beginning of August. The hard part is not being able to do much with the horses but seeing them lifts my spirits and gives me a little exercise which the specialist says is good for me.
October
Went to Harrods and boy was I disappointed, first I phoned to ask if I could take Jake to which I was told yes but
I could only visit the dog section
I had to be escorted in and out the building
Jake was to be kept in a carrier
I decided in the end not to take Jake only to see a woman with a huge terrier waltzing around with her dog on a leash and NO security to be seen. Grr!! On a positive note the tube was packed and I think Jake would have got knocked about too much so in a way I was pleased I never took him.
The shopping was also disappointing. I went looking for clothes for Jake thinkign I'd get some really nice gear but the range was meagre and some things such as a plain knitted jumper about 6" long was £45. Shocking.. So I went home rather disappointed with Harrods big style.
On another note and a good one, Shane Borland. I got a few people together and arranged for Shane to come and give some private and semi private lessons, the day went great and everyone was really enthusiastic about what they learnt. Unfortunately the November lessons were cancelled and I have just cancelled the December Lesson, Hopefully the January one will go ahead. This meant however that I could take Spike to Shane's place and though I couldn't ride too much as I got too breathless what I did learn really set me up and I had my first nice steady canter on Spike which made my day.
November
The end of October had me attending a puppy training class which the first day was without dogs. I was puzzled by this but on going I found there was so much info that the evening passed in a blur. Over the following sessions which were once a week I saw a big difference in Jake and it got me out the house.
This month I also decided it was time to sort my teeth out, I had a tooth out and when I smile it looks terrible, so the start of some expensive treatment is under way.. I won't say the cost as I have only got over the shock. but at least come December I should be able to smile again without a gaping hole.
Things are a struggle for me just now, the least bit effort to do anything leaves me wheezing and coughing with pains in my chest and legs so I gotta take it easy. I see my specialist in December so will see what he says, at least I haven't had any more accidents.
Who went to the Parelli Conference, wasn't it just awesome, this was my 7th conference and it was the best yet. The whole weekend had me captivated and each session was as good as the last. Who bought the new levels and who has ordered the Celebration DVD?
So the last few months have brought us darker evening and cold wet windy days.. just another excuse to stay wrapped up warm at home. Brrr I don't do winter very well..
