MONDAY 10th
Since my last entry things have certainkly been amusing if you can call it that. Not long after the moped accident I got kicked in the left leg by Kyle, okay he could have been kicking out at Bailey but he ain't daft, he knew I was there. So now hobbling wth two sore legs I still made the effort to get to see Rachel Moreland on her first day in Northampton for a 2 day course.
Not one to do things quietly come Sunday morning (2nd August) I was stopped behind a car waiting for a van to turn right when "BANG" a woman rammed very hard into the back me. So now on top of my injuries I also have whiplash, a sore back and leg and still having treament on my right leg and I never did make it to day 2 of the course. My main concern was how was I to feed Kyle and Spike, they'd be waiting for me?
Okay to cheer myself up I decided to have my hair permed but "Oh NO" I look like Worzel Gumage" do you remeber him, that tatty but funny scarecrow. went back to hairdresers who layered my hair and its a case of stick with the result for at least 4 months when they can look at it again...
Now to talk of my horses, and everything is positve, after going to see Ken Faulkner give a clinic the next day I used some of his philosophies and started playing with my horses. Oh WOW !!! did they both blow me away, with Kyle bareback and bridleless we went from walk to halt, trot to halt and even canter to halt merely by using only my weight. Pirouette's and Reinback with ease.
Teaching Spike to flex his ribs and arch his back went briiliant and when I rode he too give me trot to halt and rein back with no rein contact though I was riding with a saddle and headcollar. Both horses finished totally relaxed and it has shown me just what you can do when you know what to do. Its the not knowing what to do that's the hard part.
