Parelli Social Meeting
22nd April 2008
West Hunsbury |
The room seems to get smaller each time or is it that more people are coming along to these gatherings of Parelli fanatics wanting to absorb their time away from the huste of household chores, pets and even the demanding hubby? Is it the entertainment, the food or the brilliant raffle prize...?? My guess is, it is being around friends and having a good chin wag.
I lost count of how many people turned up and the door bell never seemed to stop ringing. First up on the topic was a mention of the Alison Jones Course which ran in March and the Savvy Fun Day which was held in April. Both events were well attended will plenty of spectators who are always welcome.
Up coming Courses with David Zuend, now allowing up to 3 participants at Level 1 being held on the 21st & 22nd June and also Russell Higgins on the 2nd -4th August. (4th holding private lessons of which PM is now only available)
Idea's were put forward for future Fun Days and Socials and one main suggestion was to have a riding session at Fun Days. With that the Fun Day at Moulton College on the 29th June will be "Morning = ground skills & Afternoon = Ridden" Next was suggested that names of participants for courses and events was put up on the website. This has now been done.
Dates set for future events.

Savvy Fun Ride Details
August 23rd sees us on the Savvy Fun Ride meeting at Chapel Brampton for 11.30am giving time to eat together before setting off at approx 1.30pm. Covering an 8 miles route which is mostly bridleways with very little road work this is set to be a great ride out with like minded fellows.
Horses shall be loading /unloading in a large layby and I have been assurred it is totally safe being on a quiet road. However should anyone participating have a horse that has difficulty with loading / unloading please advise us so that safer arrangements can be arranged. So far already we have 6 on the ride with another 3 in deciding. This ride has been organised and made possible by Brenda Foster and Moira Dixon.
The buffet was opened and what a selection, where do you start and how do you stop as seconds and thirds were taken yummy.... We all then sat down to watch Disc 9 of the Savvy Club taken back in 2005 showing imagination games. Watching Pat work with a horse, cattle and fellow riders was awesome.
Hang a mo!!! The raffle.. stop the Disc... okay Pink ticket (all the ticketrs are pink LOL) ..first number is .. 2... followed by a ..4, anticipation as I hestitate... thrid number is 8 and Ulrike Bluemel wins. The prize is a book by Mark Rashid and having a choice of a few Ulrike choose "Horses Never Lie"
Resuming the DVD we all setteld down again to watch Pat and finally at 10.30pm all was finished. With great help the food was cleared and by 11pm the last person departed.
Another great evening, if you missed out then do try to make the next one.. which is on the 20th May @ Pytchley courtesy of Dawn Moreton. |
